Post-its, Patterns, Preservation

Our last seminar on “Deep Dive Interviewing” highlighted a typical
user- and design research method. While these methods are well covered
on the web and in the expert literature, the knowledge on how to
process data generated by such research or ideation methods usually is
more tacit and differs from person to person. Therefore, in this
workshop we will discuss the analysis/synthesis of data generated by
such methods and we intend to collect best practices on how to do so.
We also will try to take different points of view (researcher,
designer, client etc.) and tap into the diverse experience of our
interdisciplinary community. A few key questions we are going to cover
are:

How do you analyze/synthesize different forms of data for a given
project?

Who is involved during that process and when does it start/end?

How do you get from an insight to an actionable design strategy?

What are typical deliverables of this process and who has to work with
them?

How can you store insights or deliverables in a way, so that they can
be reused in other contexts or projects?

What are your lessons learned so far? What worked, what didn’t work
that well?

After the session the presentation will be published at http://www.stephanengl.com/
